About Zinc Oxide
Zinc Oxide occurs naturally as the mineral zincite but most zinc oxide is produced synthetically. Pure ZnO is a white powder, but in nature it is found in yellow to red color because of manganese and other impurities. Numerous specialised methods exist for producing ZnO for scientific studies and niche applications.
zinc oxide has high refractive index, high thermal conductivity, binding, antibacterial and UV-protection properties. It is used as an additive in numerous materials and products including cosmetics, food supplements, rubbers, plastics, ceramics, glass, cement, lubricants,[10] paints, ointments, adhesives, sealants, pigments, foods, batteries, ferrites, fire retardants, and first-aid tapes.
