About Acetic Acid Glacial

Acetic acid also known as ethanoic acid, an organic compound is an acidic, colourless liquid with the chemical formula CH3COOH. Acetic acid is a chemical reagent for the production of chemical compounds. Majority of acetic acid made for use in the chemical industry is made by the carbonylation of methanol. Glacial acetic acid is a name for anhydrous acetic acid.

The largest single use of acetic acid is in the production of vinyl acetate monomer, closely followed by acetic anhydride and ester production. Glacial acetic acid is used in analytical chemistry for the estimation of weakly alkaline substances such as organic amides.
