About Linseed oil
Linseed oil, also known as flaxseed oil or flax oil, is a colourless to yellowish oil obtained from the dried seeds of the flax plant. It is insoluble in water and less dense than water.
Linseed oil is used in oil paints to make them more fluid, glossy and transparent. It is a good source of an essential omega-3 fatty acid called alpha-linolenic acid. It is used as a finish to preserve wood products and as an additive in oil paint that enhances color and workability. Linseed oil is most often used indoors, either on paneling, moldings, beams, furniture and even on floors
